In this workshop, we will share and explore tools and methods for sustainable chemicals management.   • Session 1. Free portfolio risk assessment

    Using either a list of substances or a set of Safety Data Sheets provided by the participating company, Yordas experts will run a short report on the potential business risk associated with the substances and products in the company's portfolio. We will take into account not only current hazard and regulatory profile, but also any future risk on the horizon. In the live session, the results will be presented and participants have the opportunity to ask questions and seek advice on mitigating measures.

  • Session 2. Risk register live

    Building on the robust processes from the ISO framework, in this live session our experts will explain how a risk register can be used to help mitigate risk of non-compliance with chemicals legislation, and work with the participant to complete a number of example entries in the template risk register. The completed risk register will be sent to the participant after the live session for future reference.

Principal: Product Stewardship

Sandra Meijer

Dr Sandra Meijer (PhD, Environmental Chemistry) is a recognised expert on chemicals management and product stewardship. Dr. Meijer developed the Group’s highly regarded Yordas Hive suite of regulatory compliance tools for industry, as well as industry specific tools such as GRMS2 for the automotive industry. Sandra has extensive knowledge on how global chemicals regulations impact supply chains, with a particular expertise in the advanced manufacturing sector. She has delivered numerous training workshops for industry on topics such as REACH, Regulatory Inspections, Substances of Very High Concern, etc. and works closely with industry bodies such as ACEA and IAEG. Sandra believes passionately that product stewardship is about harnessing the power of data to move beyond simple compliance to build a more sustainable business.

Senior Regulatory Consultant

Joanna Matthew

Joanna is a senior regulatory specialist with 19 years experience in the chemical and environmental sectors. With extensive experience of the automotive, aerospace and advanced manufacturing industries, Joanna is responsible for co-ordinating custom projects relating to horizon scanning and emerging regulations, regulatory fact sheets and summaries, global monitoring services and custom software development. Joanna is also experienced in the field of consumer products regulations, including the compilation and maintenance of Restricted Substances Lists and Manufacturing Restricted Substances Lists.
